Received a call from a resident in Taman Segar Pedana. telling me that her house was badly damaged after the incident of broken main pipe infront of her house. opps....this taman is located in my Zone, well, of cause i am obliged to attend to this complain and is my duty as well to go and attend to her problem.
But, what i want to press here is not so much of the problem faced, infact, her problem is solvable and it is of very petty issue, what irritated me was this....share this with you.
Upon my arrival to her house, her sister, the owner( madam Yap) and an old man were there waiting for me. Apologizing for being late( as the result of long search of the house), then i enquired what was the problem. Before i was briefed in detail, the old man asked me this unbearable question...arrogantly and, i think her was kind of showing off: " Miss, how do you think you can help in this matter?" .....well, i looked at him, reminding myself to be patient, i asked him this;" are you the owner? no? opps, can the owner please show me the damages?"...k...this first round, no winner no loser, but, i showed him what respect was...speak to me if you are the owner.
After i was briefed by the kind and helpful owner of the damages, i did call up the contractor who incharged of this project. I was then told by the contractor, En Naza that, they came last few days to sort out some of the problem, but due to the Raya Holidays, they had to break and would resume work only on Tuesday, which is the next day, opps, i accepted that, they showed honesty and willingness to clear the mess.
then i went out of the house, the Pakcik then posed me the second unkind question:" How do you help? do you know where is the Pejabat tanah?"...oh..simple question, yes, i answered him and told me of the location of the Land office. he thought that this work was done by the Jabatan Penairan Dan Saliran Selangor(JPS), which was not JPS but Syabas! hmmm.....
what angered me was that, he then said this:" Miss, how to go to JPS ar?Why not you bring this case straight to the upper level and speak to them NOW?"??????huh???? wow...i was stunned and i was provoked.. i had given him enough face that i entertained him nicely in his first two funny and childish questions. but, the last statement of him was, unreasonable and unbearable.
I looked at him and the other women beside me, i rubbed my face as a sign of impatience and i said this: " At the very first place, no one ever expect to have this incident occured, neither did the contractor, but, they are responsible enough to come to you house upon receiving you call, they are willingly compensate the damages, and they will come to fix all these tomorrow. can you please be reasonable enough that this matter to be solved at the lower level first, and, if the contractor fails in carrying his promises, then only we bring this matter upward?this is my opinion in this case, i dont see any reason that we should not give them chances! but, uncle, if you do not like me being the representative of DAP( i was wearing DAP T shirt at that moment), please, do forgive me as i got to attend to the party event after this. but, if you think you want to handle this matter in you way, please do it your way and do not involve me..."
he was speechless upon hearing my statement, hey, dear all, i was not arrogant but i was counting back some one who was arrogant! wei, come on, why the hush when the contractor had apologised and promised to fix up all the damages??????
i was so irritated by him. but, i managed to stay cool with that utterance, he wants to complain about me? bu all mean... i m prepared for that! unreasonable old man! give la chance to the contractor! and, know what? he kept silent since then.......
